The Good Life physical rewards update

We have been quiet the past few months, but we have kept busy, working on putting together the last items needed to send the physical rewards to all the backers. We are now in the last stretch, we had a few items that required more back and forth than expected. All the collector’s edition items are now in production, including the tricky PS4 discs.  

All the items made in China have safely arrived at the warehouse in the US where all the rewards will be handled and packaged before they are sent to you.  

Our current estimate for the shipping to backers to start is July 2022. That means that will lock all the physical addresses entered by Backers during the second half of June. This comes with the unfortunate but common disclaimer on all projects of the past months that things are very unstable everywhere, shipping is more complicated than ever, and lead times are hard to predict right now, but we're doing our best to navigate the situation alongside our partners.

Q: I have moved since I filled in the survey, what should I do?

The Good Lifeのフィジカルリワードについて

この数か月は情報が出せず静かな状態が続いておりましたが、フィジカルリワードをできるだけ早く送れるよう、全てのアイテムの作成・製造を進めておりました。最後のアイテムを決めるのには思ったよりも時間がかかりましたが、コレクターズ版のアイテムはすべて、特に難しいPS4のディスクも現在製造中となっております。  

現在、中国で製造されたアイテムはすべてアメリカの倉庫に届いております。そこからすべてのリワードが包装された上でバッカーの皆様に送られる予定になっております。

現在の発送開始時間は2022年7月の予定です。なので、バッカーの皆様に記載いただいた住所の情報は6月後半にロックされ、変更することが出来なくなります。  ただ、残念なことに、最近の他のプロジェクトにもよく見られる注意書きを書かないといけません。ここ最近はどこへの発送も不安定な状態かつ以前より複雑になっており、スケジュールが非常に決めにくくなっておりますが、現在予定通りに進むように、ベストを尽くしております。

State of the physical rewards / フィジカルリワードの状況について

With the new year, now is a good time to review where we are with the different physical rewards.

All the t-shirts, hoodies, stickers, pins & badges, and mugs have been designed and manufactured. They are currently in China, ready to be send to the warehouse of Limited Run in the USA. The supply chain in the world is still very much affected by the covid-19 crisis, and we are waiting for an open window and space into a container to start the shipping. we have not been able to confirm a date yet for the products to arrive in the USA, but we are checking daily.

The Collector’s Edition is going through the final check before starting production. The clients to burn on the discs have been received by our partners and been tested. The design for the box, the leaflet, the postcards, and the artbook are being finalized. We are in the process of checking all the last elements we need to put together the CE box.

We have had to source a new manufacturing partner for the artbook as the final costs from our original partner was too far from the quote originally agreed on due to the explosion of shipping costs. Our new partner is based in Europe where the costs haven’t fluctuated as much.

Collector’s Edition & DLCs

As a reminder and as stated during the survey process, the Collector’s Edition DOES NOT include the Kickstarter DLCs. These came with the digital version you requested with your backer survey.

If you asked for the PS4 version of the Collector’s Edition, you will receive a PS4 disk with the game version, and if you have a Kickstarter PS4 digital version, the DLC codes should unlock the extra content when playing from the disc.

If you asked for the PC version of the Collector’s Edition, you will receive a DRM-free PC version on a disk. This version will not include any of the Kickstarter DLCs even with the Steam DLC digital codes as it is a stand-alone DRM-free version.

We have had to adjust many of our plans since the Kickstarter campaign, and we hope this will satisfy our backers, especially our fans playing on PC for whom a DRM-free version was important.

フィジカルリワードの状況について

The Good Lifeが発売されてから新しい年を迎えました。

ここでそれぞれのフィジカルリワードの製造状況について皆様にお伝えします。


Tシャツ、パーカー、シール、缶バッジ、マグカップはすべて製造済みの状態で、現在中国からアメリカのLimited Runの倉庫に発送する準備を行っています。COVID-19により世界の物流システムが大きく乱れており、いつ到着するか見通しがつかないため、まだグッズを発送するタイミングをうかがっている状況です。


コレクターズエディションにつきましては、生産開始前の最終チェックが行われています。ゲームディスクのデータ内容がパートナーへ届いており、既に動作テストが完了しています。

ボックス・リーフレット・ポストカード・アートブックのデザインについては最終仕上げの段階に入っています。また、コレクターズエディションのボックス含むすべてのコンテンツが揃っているかチェックを行っています。


アートブックの製造については、輸送コストの膨大な上昇により、当初合意していた見積もりから大きくかけ離れてしまったため、新たなパートナーを探す必要がありました。新しいパートナーはヨーロッパに拠点を置いており、発送料がそれほど大きく変わることはありませんので、ご安心ください。

コレクターズ・エディションとDLCについて

調査アンケートを開始した時点でご報告した通り、コレクターズ・エディションにはキックスターターのDLCが含まれておりません。各DLCは皆様が調査アンケートにリクエストしたデジタル版と一緒に送っています。 


 PS4版のコレクターズ・エディションを希望された方にはPS4版のディスクが送られます。既にキックスターターのPS4デジタル版をお持ちであれば、ディスクからプレイする際にDLCはそのまま適用されます。 


 PC版のコレクターズ・エディションを希望された方にはDRMフリーのPC版のディスクが送られます。このバージョンはDRMフリーなので、SteamのDLCコードを使用してもKickstarterのDLCはご利用できません。  


Kickstarterを開始して以来、様々な事情で計画を調整する必要がありました。今のプランでバッカーの皆様、特にDRMフリー版をPCで遊びたいというファンの方々に満足していただけることを願っております。   


注意： なお、Backerkitの発送先住所はリワードの発送時期が近くなるまでロックされませんので、変更が必要な方はこちらからよろしくお願いします。

V2.0 Patch Release Notes

Bug Fixes (Quest)

  • Fixed issue where certain quests on the quest list are not displayed as “completed” even when completed. 
  • Fixed issue where players on an Urgent Quest can switch to a different quest to prevent unintended passages of play that could prevent game progression. 
  • Restricted the movement range during certain Urgent Quests to prevent unintended passages of play that could prevent game progression. 
  • Disabled fast travel using shrines during Urgent Quests to prevent unintended passages of play that could prevent game progression.

Bug Fixes (Major)

  • Fixed issue where the game fails to progress after delivering sheep to the farm in the main quests in Route A. Saved data created before the update will have the issue fixed and should work properly after update.

Bug Fixes (Minor)

  • Fixed issue where item and meal buffs are not displayed.

Physical Rewards - Production update

The production on all the items except the hoodies, the Collector's Edition, and the stickers has been done. The items are currently sitting in a warehouse, waiting for the hoodies to be finished before they will be sent to Limited Run Games in the US, who will centralize all the fulfilment.

The hoodies took longer than the rest to be made due to a shortage of their fabric - this has been now sorted and we have been told that all the merchandise-type items (t-shirts; hoodies; mugs; pins) will be shipped to the US before the end of the year.

The Collector's Edition production is more complex and has been more affected by covid-related delays. At this moment, we do not have a good ETA for it, but we are looking at early 2022 for the production to be done.

We hope to start shipping your rewards by the end of Q1 2022 and we will keep you updated on the progress of the different steps we still need to go through.

フィジカルリワードの製造について

CE版とパーカー、シール以外のグッズの製造は完了しています。 グッズは現在倉庫に保管されています。パーカーの製造が完了した後、すべてのグッズはアメリカのLRGに発送されます。バッカー様への発送はLRGが管理してくれます。

CE版の製造は少々複雑な上、新型コロナウィルスによるスケジュールの遅れに影響されております。現在、製造が完了する日程は分かっておりませんが、おそらく2022年の始め頃になると思われます。

2022年の第一半期の終わりまでにグッズの発送はできると思います。その都度、それぞれの段階の進行のアップデートを共有します。

補足ですが、BackerKitの住所はまだロックされておらず、発送の時期が近くなるまでロックはいたしませんので、住所を更新したい方は下記のリンクから更新いただけます。

Physical Rewards production

The production for most of the physical rewards has started and is going well. We are not in a position yet to give you all an update on an estimated delivery date, some elements will take time as the production companies have quite a lot of backlog at the moment. We also know that the international shipping situation is very chaotic at the moment, and quite unpredictable.


We will inform you as we go through the different steps of manufacturing and distribution. As soon as we are confident about the timing for the delivery to backers, we will communicate it.

SWERY's novel has been released in Japanese!

My very first novel, Dear Ambivalence: The Mustachioed One, the Witches, and the Suspended Body has finally been released today in Japan!

The novel's main characters are the gentlemanly Poco and Emily Thompson, a genius detective. Many of the scenes in the book should bring a smile (or a smirk) to your face, including the attitude of Detective Chief Inspector John Dallas.

I treat this book as a sister piece to The Good Life. They're both set in rural towns in England, but this one has a completely different atmosphere, so I hope you'll check it out when the English version is released!

Speaking of which, the novel itself has already been translated into English, and we plan to release the English version early in 2022. Sorry for making you wait a bit, but I appreciate your patience!

The Good Life at the Nyx Awards

When we embarked in the crazy adventure that is The Good Life, a question was always how many people would see the appeal in this quite crazy idea. As we launched the Kickstarter, and thousands of you joined me and White Owls, it was all the validation we needed.

Now the game is out, and you and many more people can finally play it, we received another validation I didn't expect from the Nyx awards, where The Good Life received many distinctions:
